The wedding feast of Yeshua and Miriam, which lasts for seven days as was customary, is held at the home of Ethan, the brother of Yeshua’s father, Yosef, in the town of Cana of Galilee. Because so many people attend, on the third day of the feast, the wine runs out. Lest Ethan be disgraced as a bad host for running out of wine, Yeshua’s mother, Miryam, asks Yeshua if he could ask a small favor of God that some more wine may be found. In response, Yeshua turns six stone jars of water, each containing twenty to thirty gallons, into the purest of wines.

1 Following the wedding, Yeshua’s uncle Ethan gave a great feast in honor of the bride and groom that lasted for seven days and was attended by many friends and relatives from both families.
2 Ethan bore the cost of much of the feast, but Yeshua’s mother also gave Ethan one gold coin of the Magi.
3 And unto Yeshua and Miriam, she gave all the remaining gifts of the Magi as a wedding present. All the years since the visit of the Magi, she and Yosef had hidden most of the treasure and lived a humble life so that Yeshua might be given the gifts when he wed and have the freedom to devote his time to God without neglect to his family.
4 On the third day of the feast, because of the great multitude that attended, the wine ran out, and the servants prepared to go to the wine merchants to obtain more. But Ethan was distressed at the time it would take to fetch more wine and felt disgraced lest his guests should know that he had run out of wine. Therefore, Yeshua’s mother bid him to assist Ethan that he would not be disgraced.
5 Yeshua was in happy conversation with his friends and did not understand the depth of his mother’s request and said unto her, “O Mother, what has this to do with you or me, for we are not the hosts but the guests and what would you have me do that cannot be done by those whose charge it is, for is not my time due elsewhere?
6 Then Yeshua sensed his mother’s sorrow and felt contrite for his words and embraced her and said, “Whatsoever you would have me do, I will do.”
7 And Miryam implored him, “It is now that we must have wine for the cups of the guests are dry. Can you not ask a small favor of God that some wine may be quickly found until more can be obtained from the merchants?”
8 Yeshua then clasped his hands by his heart, and after gazing up into Heaven, he looked upon Miryam and said unto her, “As you wish, Mother Miryam. Please ask the servants to bring some water.”
9 And his mother said to the servants, “Whatever Yeshua bids you, do in haste.”
10 Now six stone jars were standing nearby for the rites of purification, each filled with twenty to thirty gallons of water. The servants brought Yeshua to them, and he touched each for but a moment. Then reaching his finger into one, he then brought it to his lips and said to them, “Why go to the wine procurers? This is not water, but wine of the finest grape; draw some out and take it to Ethan.” And in bewilderment, they took it.
11 When Ethan tasted it, he was amazed, for it was the purest wine of the grape and delicious to the taste, and he asked his servants from whence it came.
12 The servants too were astounded, and they pointed to Yeshua, saying, “We filled the jugs earlier to the brims with water, but when we drew from the jugs to give you a drink as he directed, behold, the water had become wine.”
13 But Ethan knew that with Yeshua, great miracles were possible, and he called to Yeshua and gave him exceeding thanks, saying, “God has saved me disgrace by this wonder and has brought honor to my house, for this is exceedingly fine wine. It is delicious yet pure, without affliction to the mind. Because of this, instead of only serving the best wine first as is the custom, we have the best wine to serve both first and last, and great shall be the memory of your wedding in the hearts of men.”
14 And Yeshua bade Ethan and the servants and his friends who were present that they tell no one of the miracle which they had witnessed, for it was not yet his time to be known in the world.
